COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY (CT)Computerized Tomography (CT) is a specialized x-ray machine which rotates around your body while taking images of your body. The CT machine utilizes x-radiation to form images to allow the radiologist to help diagnose various diseases and injuries. CT examinations last typically 10-25 minutes. Your CT examination may require an injection of iodinated contrast media. This is done through an IV established by your technologist. If you have a known iodine sensitivity, please notify your technologist. |
